About Us

Get-Away Dialysis is a Canadian company dedicated to providing individuals on haemodialysis with a high standard of dialysis treatment at our international clinics.  These clinics open up exciting vacation opportunities for dialysis patients, whatever your country of origin.

We are affiliated with Chief Medical Supplies.  CMS provides high quality pharmaceutical and haemodialysis products to pharmacies and hospitals across Canada.   CMS technicians were instrumental in setting up both of our clinics in Mexico.

[SOCIAL WORKERS AND NURSES   We have had social workers and nurses arrange to tour our clinics while on their own holidays…please contact our Calgary office if you’d like to set something up!]

CARE YOU’VE COME TO EXPECT

Dialysis treatments at Get-Away Dialysis clinics are generally four hours on B Braun dialysis machines.  The tubing, needles, dialyzers and fluids are from the same companies that would supply clinics in Canada.

The reverse osmosis water purification system and water testing are at Canadian standards.

Each station is equipped with a TV and internet connection to keep you entertained.  A family member or friend is welcome to visit with you during treatment until you hit the beach.

SUBSIDIES      Subsidies are available for those who require financial assistance.  This program has been designed to help reduce another of the barriers that some dialysis patients face when planning to travel.

Perhaps your insured services program doesn’t fully reimburse your out-of-country dialysis expenses…Please contact our office for more information.

 VACATION DESTINATIONS

MAZATLAN,  MEXICO

Get-Away Dialysis / Mazatlan is a new, state of the art clinic, located in a modern full service hospital in Mazatlan, Mexico.  Our “Clinician in Charge” at our Mazatlan clinic has 25 years of experience with medical tourism on cruise ships, as well as at the hospital, liaising with the large expatriate Canadian and American communities which reside in Mazatlan year-round.

Following a two year review process, this hospital was recently awarded a national accreditation, reserved only for hospitals demonstrating the highest standards in the country.

PUERTO VALLARTA,  MEXICO

Get-Away Dialysis / Puerto Vallarta is located in a new  [Dec. 2011]  full service hospital in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.  Our “Nurse in Charge” previously worked for many years as a renal nurse in Vancouver, Canada and was also integral in setting up a home haemodialysis program in Vancouver.

This hospital is located in an absolutely spectacular setting…on a peninsula…with a marina on one side…and kilometers of beach a block over on the other side!
